Wolfsbane for seasonal flu?

  • Oct. 20th, 2009 at 4:17 PM

Well for the past month and a half I've been a bit ill. It's nothing serious, but it's pretty annoying. I have fever and cough and my throat is sore.  Initially I didn't bother to go to the doctor - hoping I would get better all by myself soon - which I guess is the reason why I haven't recovered yet. So yesterday I was feeling a bit worse than usual and finally made my way to the doc's office. My GP was furious I haven't contacted her earlier, saying I was lucky I didn't have pneumonia by now. *lol* Anyway, I thought it was just a cold, but she said it was influenza - thankfully NOT of the *oink oink* variety. :)

She prescribed me half a dozen of drugs - some of them homeopathic remedies, it seems. Well, I make a habit of reading the ingredients of any medicine I take first, and imagine my surprise when I saw one of my remedies was based on "Aconitum". *lol*  I didn't think my condition was THAT serious, haha! Plus, I thought aconite was poisonous! However, I looked around Wikipedia a bit, and it turns out wolfsbane was very commonly used in homeopathic medicine. That's a bit of a relief. It's fool moon in less than two weeks, so I'll warn you guys if I unexpectedly start growing fangs, fur, etc. XD

Snape Hatred + Snape Fanfiction

  • Nov. 30th, 2007 at 7:37 PM

ETA: Sorry I messed up all the links and cuts.... I'll edit it when I get back home.

I intended to do this sooner, but oh well... A friend of mine found this last week – a very interesting read, I assure you. I guess it will be pretty shocking to an outsider to realize how far people would go when they simply don't like something... in a children's book. I'm talking about Harry Potter, of course. The following is an excerpt from a blog, entitled Stolen Thunder of the user DJ Drummond . You can find the original entry here:

Skimming the blog, I also found this great fanfic by the same blogger. Being a supported of the Eileen Prince=Madam Pince theory, of course I squee'd while reading it. It's called Reconciliation, and contains Spoilers. Enjoy:

In utterly random news, I'm still alive and kicking. Sorry I haven't been online much lately. An entry with explanation to the reasons will follow
shortly  :)))

Where My Chronic Laziness Got Me...

Gosh I can't believe I've been on LJ since February and have never updated before.  I'm really the laziest person I know.  I should really get to it.

But some other time.  Now I should go to bed....
